Elyse Vandersteen has always had a deep love for music and began teaching lessons in 2015. She pursued further education at McNally Smith College of Music, Augsburg University, and Berklee College of Music. In 2020, she founded E Major 7 Music with the goal of sharing her love of music through personalized and creative Lessons. She specializes in personalized lessons and Adaptive Music Lessons for all ages.

 

Elyse teaches students of any age and ability levels. Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, interests, and goals. Areas of focus may include music theory, lead sheets, tablature, grand staff sheet music, sight-reading, or learning specific songs. Questions and creativity are encouraged in a judgment-free environment where students can express themselves, explore music, and enjoy the creative learning process.

 

Elyse teaches violin, viola, piano, saxophone, clarinet, drums/percussion, acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, electric bass, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, voice, songwriting, and music theory.

Riley Walton is a multi-instrumentalist with a background in Piano Performance from Waldorf University, bringing a thoughtful balance of structure and creativity to his work. In addition to his classical training, he has a strong passion for improvisation and encourages students to explore their own musical ideas with confidence.

Riley’s teaching style is flexible, engaging, and student-centered. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and include technique development, music theory, repertoire building, and creative exploration. Whether focusing on fundamentals or experimenting at the piano, his approach emphasizes both progress and genuine enjoyment.

He works with students of all experience levels and has a particular interest in supporting those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. Riley fosters a welcoming, low-pressure environment where curiosity is encouraged and mistakes are seen as an essential part of growth.

Ultimately, his goal is to help students build confidence, develop their skills, and discover a personal connection to music that feels both natural and rewarding.
